Sustained Tones Vol. 1 is born from the maturation of ideas first explored in the Organic Music series. More than composing in the classical sense of the word, where the composer is taken as a Creator with a capital C, the process was one of discovery. Much like a gardener tending a garden. Establishing a certain framework, caring for it, and trusting that the structures would gradually reveal themselves in layers of continuous movement. Anchored in sustain, repetition, and duration. By doing this, I found a form of expressive minimalism, with moments of breathing, suspension, light, and shadow. Dissolving the boundaries between body and environment, inner sound and external landscape. By inhabiting these sonic fields, the creative gesture also became an act of inner listening.
